Bistrita’s valley and keys start in Călimani Mountains, from an altitude of 1.562m and have the length of 65km. Valea Repedea forms a complex vegetal reservation and it stretches on 7km, through the volcanic rocks of Călimani Mountains.
Dendrology park from Arcalia (17km west of Bistriţa, close to Arcalia village) – it has the length of 16ha and over 150 species of trees from different areas of the world (Japan, Caucasia, etc).

Spas

• Sângeorz-Băi (56km from Bistriţa) - spa locates in a depression area (465m) between Rodnei, Suhard and Bârgăului Mountains, in the valley of the river Someşul Mare. The mineral springs from Sângeorz-Băi appeared in an official document for the first time in 1770.
• Colibiţa (height 830m) 18km from Prundu Bârgăului.
• Piatra Fântânele (1.100m, in Tihuţa Pass, ski resort).
• Valea Vinului 8km from Rodna.
